COWS' PORTRAIT
 

The cowland  project was born during few walks in Lessinia with the camera over my shoulder . It started  by recognizing that when we talk of cows, we always speak of them in the plural (the same goes for sheep, seagulls, pigeons…. ) as if they could not exist individually, forgetting that cows are not all the same, they have different shapes, colors, personalities and expressions that make them individually recognizable.

Thus begins a first draft of the project, with a series of close-up photographs of the "faces" of individual cows aimed at underlining their diversity and singularity. This forces me to get closer to the subject and at the same time allows me to explore other parts of the animal's body, relating them to the surrounding landscape: the COWLAND project was born.
